Historic Pewee Valley, Published in 1991 by Historic Pewee Valley, Inc.
In 1987, when development threatened historic Edgewood with demolition, a group of Peweeans interested in saving their town's unique architectural heritage came together and formed Historic Pewee Valley, Inc.
Led by Karen Graves, who lived in Woodside at that time, the group raised money, hired Louisville historian Carolyn Brooks to prepare the National Register of Historic Places nominations for specific properties and the town's Central Avenue and Ashwood Avenue Historic Districts in 1989, and published "Historic Pewee Valley" in 1991. A cadre of dedicated volunteers spent countless hours putting the 75-page booklet together:
Karen Graves, Chairman and Publisher
Terry Travato, Editor
Carolyn Brooks, Historical Research
Bill Ferebee, Art Direction
Beth Ann Beverly, Photographic Research
Florence Dickerson, Photographic Research and Circulation and "Fun" Raising
Charles Castner, L&N Archives, Photographic Research
